African, Asian and European Languages - part-time courses for adults who want to learn another language for professional, travel, family or personal development reasons. The language courses are offered in European, Asian and South African languages. Three levels of language courses are available - beginner, intermediate and advanced. Each level lasts around 6 months, with 96 hours of tuition.

English Improvement - part-time English courses focused on improving your English reading and writing skills. This course is to assist second language speakers with improving their performance in the workplace and therefore their chances of promotion. There are 8 courses in the EI programme. The first 6 run over 12 weeks with 48 contact hours. Advanced English and Business English courses are 16 weeks long.

English as a Foreign Language – full-time English courses for learners who need to improve their English before going to college or university, or before starting work, as well as those who simply want to be able to socialize with confidence in English speaking environment. The General English course is fulltime for 7 weeks. The EFL department offers addition English courses in Medical English, English for Academic Purposes, and Conversational English.

Corporate Language Courses – tailored language courses for private companies and language courses for government organizations. Courses are offered in Asian languages, African languages, European Languages, English Improvement and South African Sign Language. The Sign Language Courses are run by the Centre for Deaf Studies.
