The weather in Johannesburg is also a big draw card, as we enjoy warm weather throughout the year, and we have one of the best climates in the world. Johannesburg is also known to be the largest man-made urban forest in the world. Historically, the area where Johannesburg is now situated was previously grassland. The trees are mostly indigenous and were planted and brought in by man. Today, according to the City of Johannesburg website, there are 1.2 million trees within parks and on pavements in Johannesburg, and a further 4.8 million trees in private gardens.
