Winding down after a GREAT 2013!
By Lerato Mokoka
On the 25th of October 2013, the Wits Language School team spent the evening at Doppio Zero in Rosebank – a comfortable, awesome vibe restaurant that has a very relaxed atmosphere.
A fun game of People Bingo kicked off the evening – the aim being to break the ice and see how much colleagues knew about each other. This game afforded everyone a chance to mix and mingle, and answer questions which would have won them prizes! Talk about motivating a crowd to socialise! The winners were treated to some lovely prizes.
As the evening progressed, existing friendships were strengthened and new friendships struck. In addition, the usually staid and demur people one normally passes in the office corridors were transformed into the life of the party! Thankfully though, no one did anything that would have guaranteed their absence from at work on Monday!
Doppio Zero offers a great selection of delicious food; with a decadent dessert selection wide enough to leave everyone undecided as to what they would order! The restaurant staff was awesome and very attentive to everyone’s needs.
Thank you to the organisers of the function – the WLS English as a Foreign Language (EFL) unit. What a splendid way to celebrate everyone’s hard work and achievements of the year! As mementos of the night, the EFL unit handed out branded pens and beaded key holders – a small gift that a lovely surprise to all.
Here’s to 2014 – we look forward to another great year, and an even more awesome year-end get together.
Here are a few photos from the night.
