Language Qualifications
- First language usage (or near-mother tongue fluency).
- Experience in teaching the language as a foreign language to adult learners – preferably two years’ experience.
- Candidates who have taught for less than the required two years or who have not necessarily taught their language to adult learners may still contact the Wits Language School.
- Tertiary degree in language or education. If possible specialisation in subjects such as: methodology and practice of teaching a foreign language.
- Degrees in related fields (applied linguistics, literature and language studies) will be considered
- Diploma in teaching a foreign language is an added benefit.
Other Requirements
- South African citizenship or valid South African ID (permanent resident) or valid work permit (e.g. specialised skills visa) or study permit;
- Availability to work in the evenings and Saturday mornings;
- Own transport.
Remuneration
- Dependent on qualifications and relevant experience
